Passwords Live Here Too
Keep passwords and cards without the cloud
The vault holds more than paper — and keeping both together turns out to matter.
The bank login is in my browser, the account number is in a PDF, the customer ID is in an email, and the card PIN is in a note on my phone. They're all the same bank.
— scattered by default
Vault Items sits beside your documents and holds the small secrets that go with them, grouped by what they protect.
Revealing a secret asks twice
Viewing or copying a password asks you to prove it is still you — master password, or Touch ID. Copied secrets are cleared from the clipboard shortly after, rather than waiting for the next thing you copy. Filling logins straight into a sign-in page through a browser extension is planned for a later release.
Auto-lock is your friend
Settings → Security sets how long the vault stays open when idle. Fifteen minutes by default. Shorten it if you work somewhere public; the cost is typing your password more often, which is a fair trade.
Copy one field from a saved record
The walkthrough uses a fictional Code workspace login to show individually copyable fields and a masked password. Store only demonstration credentials while trying the workflow. Keep your recovery key somewhere safe and separate from the machine.
